Obtaining Police Reports

Most CTPD report are available within 7-10 business days of filing.  Reportable Crash Reports (AA-500) may require a minimum of 14 business days for processing, data entry and review before becoming available to the public


How do I obtain a copy of a Police Report? 

  • For Accident Reports: Please visit and follow the directions.  Please allow 7-10 days for reports to be completed and approved.  Information about drivers and vehicles involved in crashes will not be given out over the phone.  You must request a copy of the report to obtain any information.  There is a $15.00 fee associated with obtaining CTPD Accident Reports
  • For all other Reports: You may request in person, phone or email.  Responses to report or information requests can be sent vial mail, email or left at the front lobby window for pick up by the requestor.  Please provide as much information as possible, including the Incident Report From (IRF) number, the date, time location, and people involved.  To request a copy of the report, in person, complete the Report and Information Request Form and hand it to Police Support Staff.  There is no fee most other reports, however if a fee is required the requester can use the Online payment option available

Incident Report Form (IRF):                 $.25 cents per page plus postage

Crime Victim:                                        No Charge

Reports Sent via E-mail:                        No Charge (except Accident Reports)

Other mediums (photos, etc) Actual Cost (Administrative Services will contact you with an estimate)

CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Make checks or money orders payable to CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP. If you must pay in cash, please stop in the Township Administration Building in the Accounting Department for a receipt and bring it back to the front lobby window.
