The 23rd Annual Concerts in the Park Free Music Series Kicks Off at Curtis Arboretum on June 28 with Abe Ovadia. Special thanks to our sponsor, Einstein Medical Center.
On Sunday, June 28, 2020, the 23rd annual Concerts in the Park series starts the season at 5:00 p.m. at Curtis Arboretum. Cheltenham Township offers this free concert series on five Sundays during the summer. The concerts primarily take place at Curtis Arboretum, the beautiful and recently renovated 47-acre park located at 1250 West Church Road in Wyncote.
This Sunday’s first concert will feature Abe Ovadia, a jazz guitarist born in Marlboro, New Jersey, and the founder of the Monmouth Music Academy.
All musicians featured in the series will play two 45-minute sets starting at 5:00 p.m., but the musician line-up is subject to change, so check the website for updates. Lawn chairs, blankets, and light snacks are welcome, but alcohol is not permitted.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be enforced. The grounds will be marked to help families stay six feet apart. Bringing hand sanitizer and wearing masks are recommended. In case of rain, the concert will be canceled.
The concerts will be live streamed on YouTube for residents who would like to listen from the comfort and safety of their homes. A link will be provided on our website and social media outlets.
Concerts in the Park would not be possible without the support of the series sponsor, Einstein Medical Center. Einstein Medical Center offers a full range of services, including a 24-hour Emergency Department on a 30-acre suburban campus at 60 Township Line Road in Elkins Park. The final concert, scheduled for August 23, will be held at Einstein Medical Center in Elkins Park.
