Volunteers Sought to Advise Township
Posted on Monday October 22, 2018
Do you want to build your resume? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Then volunteer to serve on one of Cheltenham's citizen committees!

Cheltenham Township is looking for residents interested in joining its volunteer citizens committees. Serving on a volunteer citizens committee is an excellent way to help shape the community in which you live. Our citizens committees tackle a wide variety of issues affecting the Township and its residents, providing recommendations and advice to Township staff and the Board of Commissioners.

Service on these committees typically involves attendance at one meeting each month, generally on weeknights, and some involve attendance at events, activities or meetings outside the regularly-scheduled committee meeting dates. Committee terms vary from one to four years.

If interested in lending your talents and interests to Cheltenham, please send a letter of interest, along with your resume, to Bryan T. Havir, Township Manager, 8230 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027, or email them to [email protected]. Only registered voters (if eligible to vote) who live in Cheltenham Township may serve.

Openings are available on the following citizen groups:

  • Board of Appeals
  • Economic Development Task Force
  • Environmental Advisory Council
  • Historical Commission
  • La Mott Board of Historical and Architectural Review (must be a resident of La Mott)
  • Planning Commission
  • Shade Tree Advisory Commission
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Committee
  • Twinning Committee
  • Wyncote Board of Historical and Architectural Review (must be a resident of Wyncote)

More information about the committees is available the  Citizen Committees webpage. Questions may be directed to Ashley Lupino, Administrative Assistant, at either  [email protected] or (215) 887-6200, ext. 111.
