After years of painstaking rehabilitation, the Cheltenham Township Historical Commission finally celebrated the Richard Wall House grand opening as a house museum in September 1994.

Exhibits, such as a farmers' tool display, a colonial bedroom, a large dollhouse, and a Roaring Twenties room, fill the house. In addition, the old stable has also been converted into a visitor orientation center.

Living RoomYou are welcome to browse the Library, which contains wonderful pictures and books about many well-known Township residents like Lucretia Mott; Reggie Jackson, and movie director Richard Lester (A Hard Day's Night). These materials are also available for reference use.

Other exhibits include an exclusive glass bottle collection, fine clothing, and many other interesting historical artifacts, like the beehive oven that depicts cooking in the 19th Century.

The Historical Commission continues to improve the Wall House and to seek materials for exhibit in the house. Anyone willing to donate antique furniture, clothing, kitchenware, tools or other items in good condition should contact Dorothy Spruill, at 215-884-4306. Donations are tax deductible.
