“First Fridays” is another economic development initiative designed to support and promote Cheltenham Township businesses since a healthy business base is vital to a healthy community.
First Fridays
In Downtown Glenside
Along Easton Road
(between Glenside and Toxony Avenues)
and Glenside Avenue (between Easton Road and Keswick Avenue)
Cheltenham Township Main Street, partnering with the Downtown Glenside Merchants’ Association, announces the launch of First Fridays in Downtown Glenside. On the first Friday of each month, many businesses along Easton Road (between Glenside and Toxony Avenues) and Glenside Avenue (between Easton Road and Keswick Avenue) will offer special activities, refreshments and/or discounts, while extending their hours to attract shoppers. In addition, all parking will be free starting at 5:00 p.m.
“We want to make Downtown Glenside a shopping destination,” said Ruth Littner Shaw, Cheltenham Township Main Street Manager. “Offering shoppers extended hours and special attractions will hopefully spotlight all the commercial district has to offer.”

The next First Friday event will be held on March 5, 2010.
Participating businesses along East Glenside Avenue and South Easton Road will have extended evening hours. Check the businesses listed below to see their closing hours and their special sales and events.
