New Year's Day Closings

All Cheltenham Township facilities will be closed for the holiday. Refuse & recycling collection will be ONE DAY BEHIND the usual schedule this week.

The Cheltenham Township Administration Building, located at 8230 Old York Road in Elkins Park, will close at 3:00 p.m. on Fridays, December 22 and 29 and be closed all day on Mondays, December 25 and January 1 in observation of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Refuse and recycling will not be collected on Christmas and New Year’s Days. Collections will be one day behind the usual schedule those weeks, as follows:
• Route A – Laverock and Glenside – on Tuesdays, December 26 and January 2
• Route B – Wyncote, Chelten Hills and west Elkins Park – on Wednesdays, December 27 and January 3.
• Route C – east Elkins Park and Melrose Park – on Thursdays, December 28 and January 4.
• Route D – Cheltenham Village, Rowland Park and Oak Lane Manor – on Fridays, December 29 and January 5.
There will be no special collection of non-combustible items on Fridays, December 29 and January 5.
Moreover, the Township’s Public Works Facility, located at 8101 Old York Road in Elkins Park, and Waverly Road Compost Facility, located between Church Road and Cheltenham Avenue in Laverock, will be closed on Saturdays, December 23 and 30 in addition to Mondays, December 25 and January 1. No materials will be accepted those days.

The La Mott and Rowland Community Centers, which will offer special activities on December 26 to 29 for students on winter break, will close at 3:00 p.m. on Fridays, December 22 and 29 and be closed all Christmas and New Year’s Days. Finally, Cheltenham Township libraries will be closed on December 23 through 25 and December 31 and January 1.
