Police Change Burglar Alarm Policy
As part of a concentrated Police effort to solve burglaries committed in the Township, the Police are temporarily suspending the portion of the Township Alarm Ordinance requiring prior notifications of property owners. All alarm companies should contact the Police immediately upon receiving any alarm signal. Property owners with alarms should let their alarm company know of this change. Police will still leave a notice that they responded to the residence. Police are also temporarily suspending the fines normally issued when a residence exceeds three alarms, unless the location is having excessive activations. INFORMATION

NOTE: As of September 1, 2010, all calls from burglar and fire alarms should be directed to the Montgomery County Dispatch Center at 610-275-1222, instead of the Cheltenham Police Department. Township residents should notify their alarm companies about this change.
